Messenger app Telegram released new features on Thursday in its latest update, including search filters, channel comments, anonymous group admins, Android improvements, more animated emojis, and a few other features. The most useful of them all is probably the search filters which allow you to type the name of media, links, files, users, voice messages, and even time periods like"yesterday" and "last week" to find your desired content faster. On August 14, Telegram announced their new Video Calls feature for better face-to-face communication on iOS and Android. The video calls support picture-in-picture mode, allowing you to scroll through chats and multitask while still maintaining eye contact. On July 26, they increased the file storage capacity in the app from 1.5GB to 2GG, added video profiles (with in-app video editing and cropping) as well as support for multiple accounts. They also added detailed statistics, graphs and analytics to Groups in the July update and a "Friends Nearby" feature. On June 26, Telegram was ordered by the U.S. Security Exchange Commission (SEC) to return $1.2 billion to investors and pay an $18.5 million penalty to settle charges for their unregistered offerings of digital tokens called "Grams".
