The supply of Bitcoin is shrinking on a daily basis as an estimated total of 1,500 BTC is lost per day. The maximum number of Bitcoin that will ever actually be in circulation is around 14 million due to death, lost hardware and keys, and sending to the wrong address. An estimated 1,500 BTC is lost per day compared to about 900 BTC mined, which is mainly why bitcoin is so deflationary.
