Lamborghini plans collection of space-themed NFTs

Lamborghini has finally embraced foraying into the world of non-fungible tokens. An upcoming "Space-Time Memory" collection from the company is set for release in February.

Lamborghini disclosed the information in a recent press release. Fabian Oefner, a Swiss artist known for exploring time, space, and reality, was chosen to design the NFTs, according to the statement.

The Lamborghini Space Key is part of the NFT collection, along with an upcoming digital component.

Oefner said the following about the project:

"As I created this project, I was interested in the intersection between the physical and digital worlds...The car and its components, something physical and real, are transformed into an entirely new digital reality.

Additionally, the carbon fiber piece, something tangible, provides access to the digital experience provided by the piece of art. The physical world metamorphoses into the digital world in both cases.”

Oefner's design for the collection depicts one of the automaker's popular cars as it drifts through black space and divides into its individual parts, according to a report by The Verge.

Lamborghini's NFT style contrasts sharply with the cartoon images of the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, pointed out by the Verge article.

Space-Time Memory will launch its first auction for five NFTs in February. During each auction, the time interval will be 75 hours and 50 minutes, the exact length of time Apollo 11 took to leave Earth and enter the moon's orbit.
